Jane Taylor an experienced Accredited Interpersonal Psychotherapist
Welcome! I am Jane and in 2021 I came on holiday to the beautiful Isle of Skye and fell in love with the island. Here I made a lifetime commitment to move to the island to live out my late mother's dream. Since moving to Skye I feel so connected to nature that in turn offers me clarity of mind.
I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate the complexities of their emotional and relational worlds. With a deep commitment to fostering growth and healing, I offer a compassionate and collaborative approach to therapy that empowers my clients to find clarity, resilience, and fulfilment in their lives. I provide tailor made sessions that last up to 1 hour that I can offer in person, via telephone or online.
If you are an Interpersonal Psychotherapist or a trainee and looking for an IPT Supervisor, then this is something that I could help you with as I am an Accredited IPT Supervisor. I currently supervise several IPT Accredited Practitioners working in both Private and NHS services.

My Approach
Within the session, I focus on the intricate dynamics of interpersonal relationships, understanding that our connections with others significantly impact our mental and emotional well-being.
Through evidence based techniques and a personalised treatment plan, I work with you to identify and address patterns that may be holding you back, enhance your communication skills, and build healthier, more satisfying relationships.

Our Journey Together
I believe in creating a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. Together, we will work towards uncovering underlying issues, developing effective coping strategies, and fostering meaningful changes that enhance your quality of life. My goal is to support you in discovering your inner strengths and achieving a sense of balance and harmony.
My Background
With 15 years of experience in this field, I am an IPT UK Accredited Practitioner, Supervisor and Student Assessor. My Core Profession is Occupational Therapy where I graduated from Salford University in 2004.
I am also a certified member of Royal College of Occupational Therapist’s (RCOT) and Registered with the Health Care Professional Council (HCPC) ensuring that I adhere to the highest standards of ethical and professional practice. I also hold a Therapeutic Interventions degree, which I obtained from returning back to Salford University in 2007.
My diverse background includes working with individuals from various walks of life, providing me with a broad perspective and a deep understanding of different challenges and experiences. I have worked in Mental Health services 20 years plus that have included working with those with severe and enduring illness such as schizophrenia.
The peak of my clinical career was specialising in eating disorders including ARFID (Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder). However, I am unable to treat eating disorders in isolation due to the need of a full Multidisciplinary Team to deliver effective treatment. None the less I am able to apply the clinical skills gained into my everyday practice.
My Interest
My interest in helping people pre-dates my mental health career in the form of teaching aerobics and working in the fitness industry for 10 years. Here I saw first hand how exercise and environmental factors can improve and influence an individual’s mood. However above all I am a cat loving individual who believes their calling is to help others navigate a path through life when life itself starts to feel like an effort.
Specialities
I specialise in treating depression for those who are 18 and above, addressing a wide range of issues, including but not limited to:
- Anxiety and depression
- Relationship conflicts
- Self-esteem and self-worth
- Grief and loss
- Life transitions
- Stress management
